Executive Summary

Matthew Dyment has more than 15 years of experience in state and local taxation, he has served a broad range of clients in a variety of industries, with a primary focus on state tax optimization, restructuring, and transaction support. 
Matthew has extensive experience addressing complex multistate business restructurings that involve a wide range of income, franchise, and sales and use tax issues. He is also experienced with state income and sales and use tax corporate audits, acting as a liaison between the auditors and the client during the audit process. Additionally, he has drafted memoranda and practiced before the Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board.

Matthew’s responsibilities with BDO include leading the state and local tax function for the national Transaction Advisory practice, serving as the state and local tax liaison to the BDO Alliance USA and national ASC 740 teams, as well as researching tax laws, regulations, administrative rulings, publications, and case law for all 50 states.
Prior to joining BDO, Matthew was the Worldwide Director of Tax and Treasury at two public companies where he was responsible for all facets of the corporation’s tax function, including federal and international income tax, sales and use tax, state income and franchise tax, property tax, and credits and incentives.
