Executive Summary

Alex Lifson has over 20 years of experience both in Big Four public accounting and in industry. He has worked with clients ranging in size from multibillion dollar, publicly traded companies to emerging market/growth companies and across various industries, including medical devices, software, technology, pharmaceuticals, financial services, communications and retail. 
 
Alex has extensive experience advising his clients on all executive compensation and employee benefits issues, including section 280G golden parachute rules, mergers and acquisition (M&A) due diligence and integration, stock and deferred compensation (both domestic and international), section 409A, section 162(m), qualified plan nondiscrimination testing, operational compliance and correction, payroll tax issues, benefit plan reporting, and ASC 740 issues related to compensation and benefits--including all tax provision implications of ASC 718 expense. 
 
Prior to joining BDO, Alex held a senior position with a highly acquisitive Fortune 200 global medical device company, where he led a team responsible for all tax issues related to executive compensation and employee benefits, as well as all aspects of tax planning for M&A activity. In this role, he had full ownership of all technical areas, advising senior management and corporate functions throughout the organization.
 
Alex is an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) enrolled agent.
