Adam BerebitskyAdam Berebitsky, CPA | Tax Partner 
Adam leads BDO's Restaurant Practice and serves as an adviser to restaurant companies and their owners across the U.S. Leveraging his 30 years of public accounting experience and deep knowledge of the restaurant industry, Adam consults with clients on such issues as tax savings strategies, benchmarking and entity structuring. He has significant experience in federal and multi-state tax areas and has helped many clients with transactions and designing structures for the purchase and sale of business operations. Adam is regularly quoted in industry publications, such as Restaurant Finance Monitor, QSR Magazine and Restaurant Business Magazine, and is the co-creator of BDO's Restaurant CFO Bootcamp. He earned his B.S. in Accounting from Indiana University.
 

Giselle El BiriGiselle El Biri, CPA | Assurance Director 

Giselle focuses on serving clients in the restaurant industry. Her knowledge of technical accounting, internal controls, and financial reporting issues specific to restaurants has allowed Giselle to offer invaluable advice to her clients. The services she provides include financial audits, reviews, compilations, internal control assessments, and employee benefit audits for franchisors, franchisees, and independents. Giselle speaks at industry conferences and coordinates Restaurant CFO Roundtables in her local market. She received her B.S.B.A. in Accounting from John Carroll University.

Lisa HafferLisa Haffer, CPA, JD | Tax Partner
With more than 30 years of experience in public accounting, Lisa devotes 100 percent of her time to representing a myriad of national restaurant clients. She manages all aspects of clients’ tax engagements and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in restaurant-specific tax issues. She is responsible for the tax planning and review of federal and multi-state tax returns for many of the firm’s restaurant clients, performs key research, and consults on matters pertaining to tax issues relevant to the restaurant industry. Lisa earned her law degree from the University of Cincinnati and bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University.

Kari has more than 10 years of experience working exclusively with clients in the restaurant industry. She specializes in conducting and managing audits, reviews and compilations, including benefit plan audits and internal control assessments. Outside the office, Kari volunteers and is actively involved in several professional organizations. She received her B.B.A. in Accounting at Ohio University.

Ron has more than 11 years of experience in public accounting, focusing on corporate, partnership and individual tax planning and compliance for restaurant companies and their owners. With his restaurant clients – both franchised and independent concepts – located throughout the U.S., he has gained strong experience in multi-state and multi-city preparation and compliance, and generous knowledge of industry issues.


Jeff TubaughJeff Tubaugh, CPA | Tax Partner
Jeff specializes in domestic tax compliance, planning, and consulting for corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and individuals, focusing on serving those in the restaurant industry. Beyond compliance, Jeff has deep experience consulting with clients on maximizing depreciation deductions and restructuring entities to streamline and lower tax burdens, as well as buying and selling businesses, including clients with transactions involving private equity investments. Jeff is a regular speaker at BDO’s Restaurant CFO Bootcamp and coordinates Restaurant CFO Roundtables in his local market. He received his B.A. in Accounting and Business at Muskingum University.


Dana ZukofskyDana Zukofsky, CPA | Director
Dana has almost 20 years of industry experience and specializes in providing tax, assurance, and financial consulting services to clients in the restaurant and hospitality industries. Dana's financial advising knowledge spans matters related to policies, procedures, and growth strategy. She is a frequent speaker at industry events, including BDO's Restaurant CFO Bootcamp and the Restaurant Finance and Development Conference, and proudly supports City Harvest, a New York City non-profit food rescue. She received her M.B.A. at Baruch College and her B.S. in Accounting at the University of Florida.
