Presented as part of BDO USA, LLP’s Knowledge series, the Data Breach Essentials webinar continues our tradition of lending a helping hand to financial management, board directors and audit committees to stay on top of today's hot topics and developments.

This program will feature a panel discussion focused on the critical activities and parties involved in enabling an organization to recognize, respond to and mitigate incidents of data breaches. Panelists shall include members of BDO USA, LLP’s Information Systems Assurance and Forensics Technology Services practices who will be joined by a former Chief Information Officer and outside legal counsel that regularly acts as a data breach coach.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
  • Apply the key elements required to prepare for and respond to a data breach
  • Recognize certain data breach indicators, including but not limited to internal threats, external threats and other risk factors
  • Identify activities necessary to determine the extent of a data breach and methodologies to contain the breach
  • Identify appropriate personnel, both internally and externally, to involve in the cyber investigation and notification processes
