Please join BDO USA, LLP for our next session of the 2019 BDO KNOWLEDGE Nonprofit and Education Webinar Series, "Creating Structures that Work - Exempt Organizations and Their Affiliates."

As successful exempt organizations grow, they often need ways to segregate activities by purpose or geography, and to mitigate risk. It is important that nonprofits gain an understanding of the available legal forms and structures before deciding on a growth strategy. This approach can allow an organization to mitigate potential future problems that can be caused by a dysfunctional organizational structure. This webinar will discuss several types of organizational structures available to exempt organizations along with the benefits, drawbacks, and tax consequences of each option.

Participants of this webinar will be able to:
  • Learn the different legal entity forms and organizational structures available for exempt organizations.
  • Understand how organizational structures may contribute to or inhibit nonprofit growth.
  • Gain a working knowledge of the benefits and drawbacks of each type of legal entity.
  • Identify the type of entity best suited for specific purposes.
  • Learn the tax consequences of each organizational choice.
