Executive Summary

Paul has over 25 years of experience in both public accounting and law, specializing in all facets of state and local tax. His practice encompasses all aspects of state and local tax, including tax compliance, tax planning, tax due diligence, and audit/controversy resolution. Paul also has extensive experience in unclaimed property matters, having led the National Unclaimed Property Practice at another international accounting firm prior to joining BDO. In addition, he has served as a project leader and advisor on a wide range of corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, capital fundraising, and the development and execution of corporate strategy and business planning.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business Administration (Accounting), magna cum laude, from Seton Hall University, and a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from Seton Hall University School of Law, as well as a Masters of Law (LL.M.) degree in Taxation, with distinction, from Georgetown University Law Center. While at Georgetown, he was selected as a Legal Fellow with the Council on State Taxation (COST), one of only two LL.M. candidates to receive this honor.

An accomplished author and speaker, Paul has published numerous articles on various state and local tax topics, regularly instructs at training seminars, and has presented at various industry conferences.  He has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Seton Hall School of Law, lecturing on Legal Research & Writing.  Paul is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey and is an active member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, and New Jersey Bar Association.
