Executive Summary

Dan Newton has over 25 years of tax experience, including tax compliance, planning, and consulting, with extensive experience in accounting for income taxes in accordance with both US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) (ASC 740) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) (IAS 12). He has worked in Big Four public accounting, as well as industry, both with large multinational corporations and flow-through entities. He also has significant experience in preparing and reviewing complex provisions for income taxes under ASC 740. 
Prior to joining BDO, Dan worked in industry for a major medical device manufacturer and focused on income tax accounting for all merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions and tax planning initiatives. In his initial role at the company, he was responsible for the income tax provision process for more than 200 non-U.S. subsidiaries. Dan also developed and led in-house training sessions on ASC 740.
Dan was a Senior Tax Manager for a Big Four accounting firm for over nine years, working in both their Boston, and Paris offices. In Paris he focused on US GAAP requirements for income tax accounting and worked with numerous multinational clients. 
Dan was also a member of the Tax Executives Institute (TEI) while working in industry.
