BDO Professionals Talk Inspiration, Wellness to Commemorate Black History Month

February 2022

Black History Month gives us the time to reflect and honor the many contributions and challenges of Black Americans today and throughout our country's history.

Following the national 2022 Black History Month theme, this year’s focus is on health and wellness in the Black community. BDO is encouraging conversations around the theme through a series of local and national events, including a webinar for clients and friends of the firm focused on Healthcare Disparities Within Black Communities.

“This month serves as a vital reminder of where we’ve been and the work that remains ahead of us,” said Assurance Quality in the Regions and Industry National Managing Partner and Multicultural Alliance National Co-Leader Tiffany Prudhomme. “I encourage all to dedicate time to listening and engaging in meaningful conversations around what it means to be a Black professional in America — and to learning about health and wellness challenges in the Black community." BDO's Multicultural Alliance group leads the firm’s celebration of Black History Month.

To accompany the dedicated firmwide events, we asked five BDO professionals to share their personal experiences advocating for their health, working in the accounting industry and more.
