BDO 2014 Energy Outlook - Winter 2014

January 2014

The U.S. energy sector has reason to feel optimistic heading into 2014. Shale extraction has been a boon to the industry and continues to prove profitable for the U.S. economy as a whole. We polled 100 CFOs from leading U.S. oil and gas companies about their sentiments for the year ahead, and overall, they're feeling positive about the economy, their access to capital and credit and growing domestic and global demand. As a result, CFOs indicate that they plan to proceed cautiously in 2014, focusing their resources on bolstering existing operations and finding efficiencies.
