The Challenge

Addressing Organizational and Technical Hurdles

As a spinoff from a large steel company, the client lacked several essential internal teams, including an IT infrastructure group. With limited IT support coming from their parent company, the client needed to build its own internal technical team while implementing an effective ERP platform. Additionally, the organization had lost critical training resources, meaning it lacked support in educating its workers on how to use the new ERP software and work through the challenging change management phase.

The Approach

Exploring the Client’s Specific Needs and Enacting Effective Change Management

To address the client’s need for an ERP platform, we helped them implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain. This began with our knowledgeable Dynamics 365 professionals going to the client’s sites in Australia and Canada. By implementing Microsoft’s Project Success by Design Methodology, we extended our approach with a deep dive into business process governance while offering guidance to help stabilize the operating environment.

We then enacted a rapid-deployment process to review the organization’s current architecture and quickly pivoted to a change management plan that included retraining the employees, prioritizing any processes that needed to be improved within Dynamics 365.

By working closely with the executive team, we regularly verified that our efforts aligned with the organization’s goals, strategy, and approach.

The Results

Transforming Results Through Data-Driven Decision-Making

Through the help of our experienced professionals engaging with the ERP platform’s users, the client adopted the Dynamics 365 platform quickly. Users were able to take ownership of their roles within the system, leading to increased productivity and lower IT costs through the reduction of add-on solutions and customization fees.

The company has also seen increased operational data through the Dynamics 365 platform, allowing them to make more informed decisions in planning, purchasing, and inventory management. It has also led to reduced inventory levels, reduced operational expenses, and increased profit margins.

Additionally, Microsoft’s Power BI has allowed the client to combine disparate data sources for a global view of the critical information across the business.

By leveraging our end-to-end solutions and extensive experience, we have accelerated the client’s IT capabilities, enhanced operational maturity, and significantly improved user experience. Our team has continuously refined delivery while collaborating to reimagine processes, helping to ensuring the client remains a leader in the manufacturing industry.
