Background & Challenges 

BDO was retained to provide consulting services to assist counsel on a variety of aspects of digital forensics and e-discovery work pertaining to a product liability matter involving one of the world’s largest auto manufacturers. 

Approach

Our team advised and participated in strategy and planning meetings, managed the case from an overall project perspective, performed electronically stored information (ESI) collections and processing on information located throughout the U.S. and in Japan, processed millions of documents, and collected terabytes of data, as well as provided training and support to dozens of document reviewers in English and Asian languages.

Client Impact 

BDO worked extensively with counsel in complex FRCP Rule 26(f) planning discovery conferences with opposing counsel and their experts, conducted custodial interviews, and worked closely with counsel to craft governing ESI protocols.
