2016 Year-End Tax Update and Discussion of Newly Issued Section 385 Regulations

BDO USA, LLP invites you and your colleagues to a complimentary CPE-qualified program. 

The Treasury Department and IRS have released final regulations under section 385, covering the treatment of certain related party interests as debt vs. equity for U.S. income tax purposes. This session will describe details of the new regulations, and will discuss common corporate application and potential traps for the unwary.

With the November elections having concluded, we will examine the role that federal tax policy played in the electoral process. This session will summarize the tax plans of the President-elect, as well as their chances of being enacted by the new Congress. We will also address the principal aspects of recently-enacted legislation, significant regulatory and administrative developments, and prospects for further tax legislation for the rest of the year.
