Presenters will provide an overview of the recently released proposed regulations under Section 250.  Topics discussed will include rules relating to sales and services that qualify for the foreign derived intangible income (FDII) deduction, the treatment of related party transactions, computational rules relating to FDII, documentation rules under FDII, the interaction of Sections 250, 172 and 163(j), and Section 962 elections and Section 250 (as it relates to global intangible low taxed income or GILTI).
Learning Objectives:
  • Identify what sales and services qualify for the Section 250 deduction,
  • Define how the Section 250 deduction is calculated, and
  • Apply the documentation requirements relating to FDII.
