In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress has passed several pieces of legislation that created various relief funds to assist institutions of higher education in navigating the impact of COVID-19 to their students, employees, and campuses. The Department of Education established the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (“HEERF”), which has a unique set of compliance, auditing, and reporting requirements that must be met by the recipient.

Join BDO’s subject matter experts as they discuss this relief fund program, it’s related requirement, and what any additional matters that institutions should consider prior to expending funding for HEERF’s most recent allocation.
