Amy Thorn

As a Practice Leader in the Greater Washington D.C. office, Amy Thorn oversees the Government Contracting Assurance practice. The practice supports and collaborates with BDO’s National Center of Excellence for Government Contracting, which operates out of the Greater Washington D.C. office in McLean, VA. Amy and her practice contribute to the development of innovative and practical accounting and compliance practices for BDO government contractor clients. In addition, the practice contributes to the development of an innovative, scalable, and effective approach to auditing government contractors, which is used firmwide.  

During her career, Amy has had the opportunity to support private entities in a wide range of industries, including  government contracting, qualified settlement funds, and hospitality. Amy oversees audits, reviews, and compilations for small business/start-ups, growing middle-market companies, and large multi-billion organizations. Additionally, she oversees client engagements addressing complex accounting advisory issues, accounting management consulting, accounting standards implementation, and internal control implementation and design.
