• Flexibility

From day-to-day flexibility to long-term work adjustments,
workplace flexibility makes our people happier – and our business stronger.

It’s not just a benefit. It’s a business strategy.

The world is changing. And so is the way we work. In a global, 24/7 marketplace, heavily regimented work-days no longer make sense for our clients, or our people. In order to meet the needs of both the market and our employees, BDO has adopted a strategy that gives our people the flexibility they need to maintain healthy personal lives, while also delivering on the promises we make to our clients.

People who work in a flexible environment are happier, better performing, and more committed – in short, they’re better at what they do. At BDO, we understand that our success and adaptability depends not only on recruiting and developing the most talented professionals, but on creating an environment where they can thrive personally and professionally.
Workplace flexibility allows our people to adjust where, when, or how often they work – even the types of work they do. And because everyone has unique needs, responsibilities, and interests, flexibility at BDO is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Rather, we encourage our people to find the individual arrangements that benefit both them and the firm.
Flex is available for everyone, regardless of level. All employees are encouraged to take advantage of the kinds of flexibility that will work for them and for the firm – whether they need an afternoon to attend a child’s soccer game, or a schedule adjustment to accomodate a client in another time zone.
Day-To-Day Flex – Small choices and changes that allow for temporary schedule adjustments, such as working from home while waiting for the plumber, or going to the gym one day a week during business hours.
Formal Flex – Used when there is an official change in how, where, or when an individual works, including non-standard working hours, telecommuting, or taking on a reduced workload.

Predictable Work Breaks – Used individually or as a team to plan and take uninterrupted breaks from work.
