Yuan Chou is a Partner in the Greater Washington, D.C. office where he focuses on core tax accounting methods such as the timing of income recognition and deductions, depreciation, inventory/UNICAP, and leasing issues. As the co-technical practice leader of the Accounting Methods group within BDO’s National Tax Office, Yuan is one of the firm’s technical resources with respect to interacting with the IRS on accounting method changes, implementing the new ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, consulting on the tax treatment of transaction costs relating to mergers and acquisitions and leasing-related arrangements, complying with the Tangible Property Regulations, and filing changes in accounting periods.
