Executive Summary

John McKay is a Partner in BDO’s Houston office and serves as a Managing Technical Partner for the Central-Atlantic-Southeast Region. He is also a member of the firm’s National Assurance practice, assisting clients and engagement teams with the resolution of complex accounting issues and complying with public company reporting requirements, professional standards, and firm policies.
 
John has served clients domestically and internationally, having lived in China and Southeast Asia. He has led assurance and advisory teams serving clients in the consumer products, energy, manufacturing, private equity and specialty finance industries. He has assisted clients in public debt and equity offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and financing arrangements. John has a breadth of experience in regulatory and technical topics, including those involving the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). He is knowledgeable about a range of technical accounting matters, including consolidations, financial instruments, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and share based compensation.
 
Prior to joining BDO, John was a partner with another global professional services firm where he held leadership positions both domestically and internationally.
