If you have a large number of receivables with terms that exceed one year and have not yet adopted ASC 326-Current Expected Credit Loss standard (CECL), or if you have adopted CECL but are contemplating a different accounting model, join us for a two-part discussion on CECL.
Part one will provide an accounting overview of the key provisions of ASC 326 as they apply to long term receivables (e.g., loans and held-to-maturity debt securities) and available-for-sale debt securities.

Part two will describe how probability of default is derived through the various methods used in CECL implementations such as regression models, historical averages and transition models.  We will illustrate how a method is practically applied and we will provide insights on what validators and auditors typically look for when reviewing CECL models.
