Executive Summary

Bill has more than 25 years of experience in public accounting and is the Managing Partner of BDO's Atlantic Region and National Nonprofit Practice and serves as the Executive Director of the BDO Institute for Nonprofit ExcellenceSM. The Institute, operating out of the firm's Greater Washington D.C. Metro Office, both supports and collaborates with BDO offices around the country and the world to develop innovative and practical accounting, tax and operational strategies for tax-exempt organizations.
Bill is the engagement partner for a select group of prestigious nonprofit organizations. He also serves clients in a number of other industries, including media, publishing, entertainment and sports, and professional services, as well as government. Bill's responsibilities include all phases of financial and compliance audits, analyzing internal controls and policies, developing audit plans and programs, supervising personnel, conducting technical research, reviewing financial statements, and providing recommendations for improving operations.  
Owing to his substantial experience auditing federal funds, Bill is BDO's designated audit quality partner for the Government Audit Quality Center of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He also serves on BDO USA's Board of Directors.
