Demetrios Frangiskatos

Demetrios Frangiskatos is the Leader of Assurance at BDO. In this role, he sets the strategy and leads the people and delivery experience for our Audit, Attest, financial accounting advisory and technology risk capabilities. His focus is simple, deliver the best experience for our people, which will provide the highest client experience while ensuring integrity and trust in the markets.

Throughout his 25-plus years with BDO, he has worked both with publicly and privately held emerging growth companies, and some of the largest global companies, advising clients on complex matters within the capital markets, such as IPOs, follow-on offerings, divestitures and domestic and international mergers and acquisitions. He has a track record of delivering quality advisory to companies from emerging businesses to Fortune 500 organizations.  

Demetrios has held numerous leadership roles. Most recently, he was managing partner of the east region, a leader within the firm’s Digital Transformation & Innovation (DT&I) initiative and oversaw the Assurance’s BDOADVANTAGE team, which drives quality through innovation, supports a modern work environment and which ultimately enhances firm growth. Beyond his role in the Assurance practice, he has been the Technology & Media Group industry leader, on the Audit Quality Advisory Council, and oversaw BDO’s SPAC practice.

Demetrios holds a bachelor’s degree from St John’s University’s Tobin School of business and serves as a member of the university’s Tobin Advisory Board. He is also a board member of the BDO Capital Board. Additionally, he sits on the board of directors for the Bridge NYC and is a Parish Council member and president for the Archangel Michael Church. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. For fun, he can be found on some court or field watching his daughters play sports or at theater performances.
