Bob Filip

Bob is the Pacific Northwest Market Leader for Tax. He has more than 25 years of professional experience serving clients of all sizes. Bob’s experience covers industries as varied as life sciences, technology (both hardware and software), residential construction, heavy manufacturing, forest products, retail, and consumer products.  

Bob worked for two large firms and a global tax-only consulting firm prior to joining BDO. During this time, he led diverse client service teams in developing and delivering strategic, operational and technical tax services. Bob’s experience with federal, state, international, M&A, and ASC 740 issues allows him to identify and resolve client issues and provide practical and technical assistance. A sample of the services he has successfully delivered include:

• Tax compliance services for start-up through global, SEC registrant entities including federal, state, and international filings
• Tax controversy services related to general individual, corporate, and pass-through issues, as well as R&D credits, Section 199, Section 263A, and accounting methods filings at the exam and appeals levels
• ASC 740 preparation, review and consulting on issues including quarterly and annual tax provision, acquisition integration, valuation allowance assessment, documentation, and reversal support and ASC 740-10 documentation (FIN 48)
• IPO and SOX preparedness assistance and deficiency remediation services
