Mike Williams has more than 30 years of broad corporate tax experience and has worked in both Big Four public accounting and industry. Mike possesses extensive federal, state and international corporate tax experience, encompassing tax reporting/ASC 740, tax compliance, tax planning and tax operations. He has worked with companies ranging in size from large, multibillion dollar, publicly traded companies to emerging market/growth companies. His clients include companies in a range of industries, including manufacturing, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, technology, communications, software, distribution, retail and more.
Mike has held tax leadership positions in industry, most recently with a large Fortune 200 global medical device/technology company. In this capacity, he helped build a best-in-class global tax reporting function which included establishing best-practice processes following a spinoff from the company’s former parent, and remediating a pre-existing material weakness.
Mike spent several years with two Big Four public accounting firms, where he focused on providing tax consulting, tax compliance, controversy support, and ASC 740 services to companies of various sizes, from large Fortune 100 companies through emerging growth companies. He was responsible for engagements involving areas such as ASC 740, Sec. 382, the research and development (R&D) tax credit, transfer pricing, intellectual property planning, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and global structuring.
