Executive Summary
Maurice Liddell is a principal in BDO’s Advisory Services practice where he leads technology operations, infrastructure, and cybersecurity services. With a spectrum of insights gained from working at some of the world’s largest IT consulting firms, to hands-on experience as an engineer, Maurice uses his technology background to design, implement, and assess successful technology solutions to improve business operations and manage technology related risks for clients.
Maurice’s track record includes responsibility for $65 million budget programs; reduction of IT operating costs from $22 million to $13.5 million; transforming IT of the largest private school system in the U.S. to deliver greater value to shareholders; serving as chief technologist for the planning and launch of a B2B exchange; running global IT operations for a Fortune 500 company; evaluating and preparing organizations to comply with regulatory (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST, PCI, etc.) and industry (e.g., ISO 27001 and NIST) security standards, performing Business Impact Assessments (BIA), and developing Business Continuity Plans (BCP); and the successful management of full cycle projects ranging from custom software development to ERP implementations to enterprise infrastructure solutions.
Maurice is a founding member of BDO’s Blockchain Taskforce and has worked with several organizations in executing Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), assessing infrastructure and blockchain applications to validate compliance with published white papers, and establishing and reviewing security solutions to protect cryptocurrency based businesses. He is a frequent national speaker on blockchain, cryptocurrencies, smart contracts, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, and IT Due Diligence Integration and participated in a presentation to the SEC on cryptocurrencies.
Maurice frequently presents to boards and executive management on blockchain technology and is facilitating the development of blockchain education materials for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
