Higher Education Consulting
Operational, financial, and compliance advisory services for institutions of higher learning
Prepare your institution to address the challenges of an uncertain future
Higher education institutions manage and administer amazingly complex operating environments. A typical college or university functions simultaneously as an academic enterprise, research organization, healthcare provider, housing operator, dining service, transportation network, sports franchise, employer, and community anchor. And these already complex institutions face mounting financial pressures and continually evolving regulatory challenges. Tuition-dependent institutions may be contending with demographic shifts and unpredictable enrollment. Research institutions may be grappling with changing grant requirements and compliance obligations. Leaders are being asked to do more with less while preserving mission, quality, and resilience.
BDO’s higher education consulting team brings clarity, purpose, and deep sector experience to support institutions ranging from local community colleges to major public and private universities. With knowledgeable professionals including former auditors, college administrators, and university CFOs, we help campus leaders gain insight into the true drivers of financial and strategic performance, identify and address potential risks, and refine the processes, governance, and data discipline needed to make better decisions.
We take our mission seriously: helping you build a more efficient, resilient institution — one equipped to serve today’s students, address short-term goals, and sustain long-term success.
