From Compliance to Competitive Edge: CMMC & the DoD's Supply Chain Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity requirements across the federal supply chain continue to evolve, creating new compliance considerations for government contractors. While CMMC Phase II implementation timing remains uncertain, existing cybersecurity obligations — including DFARS 252.204-7012 requirements and prime contractor flow downs — continue to affect both primes and subcontractors. At the same time, the FAR overhaul, proposed governmentwide FAR CUI rule and ongoing False Claims Act enforcement activity are increasing scrutiny of cybersecurity representations and supply chain compliance practices.
In this webcast, we will review CMMC fundamentals and current implementation considerations, examine the DFARS and FAR cybersecurity clauses that may affect prime and subcontractor obligations, and discuss how shifting regulatory requirements could create greater complexity across the supply chain. Participants will also gain insight into practical steps contractors can take now to evaluate subcontractor compliance gaps, strengthen CUI protections, define assessment boundaries and position cybersecurity readiness as a competitive differentiator rather than simply a cost of doing business.
