Scott Peyton

As the National Practice Leader of BDO’s Risk Advisory Services practice, Scott Peyton brings more than 25 years of deep experience in internal audit, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, IT audit and internal controls, business process improvement, governance, risk and compliance, as well as transformational change, and organizational vision and strategy.

Prior to joining BDO, Scott served as a leader of risk advisory services for a large certified public accounting firm, as a CFO of finance organizations, as an audit executive in internal audit departments, and as a partner at management consulting firms. His diverse background equips him with a deep understanding of highly regulated industries with a unique ability to provide clients with customized solutions to meet their goals.

His previous experience includes leading an IT and cybersecurity internal audit practice and an integrated risk management national practice. He has served as an engagement partner for internal audit and consulting clients in Financial Services, Health Care, and for clients in other highly regulated industries. Scott has served as a managing director on Internal Audit, SOX, ERM, GRC technology, and SOC engagements at a Big Four firm.
