Michael Hottel

Mike has more than 20 years of assurance experience. He works closely with clients and engagement teams to resolve technical accounting, auditing, and financial reporting issues. Mike’s areas of focus include:

• Working extensively in issues relating to IPOs, debt and equity financings and other complex transactions. 
• Reviewing registration statements, private offering documents, and periodic SEC filings for compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements. 
• Authoring and presenting technical training courses on GAAP, GAAS, and SEC-related subjects within BDO and to external audiences.

Prior to becoming an Assurance Practice Leader, Mike served as engagement Principal on many large public, private, and international engagements, primarily in the technology industry practice.
