Executive Summary

Mark Schuette oversees BDO’s National Transfer Pricing practice. He has more than 30 years of experience consulting with clients on business, accounting, tax and valuation issues, and extensive experience performing transfer pricing services for multinationals as well as U.S. domestic companies. Prior to joining BDO, Mark was the partner in charge of Ernst & Young’s Southeast Area Transfer Pricing Economics practice, where he oversaw the provision of transfer pricing services across a six-state region. He also led the firm’s State and Local Transfer Pricing practice.
 
Mark’s transfer pricing experience includes leading documentation and planning engagements involving cost sharing arrangements, intercompany financing and guarantee fees, and headquarters services analyses. He has experience assisting clients with transfer pricing controversies, including Internal Revenue Service (IRS) audit and appeals cases, as well as advanced pricing agreements.
 
Mark works with a diverse group of public and private companies within the consumer products, manufacturing, technology, oil and gas, and financial services industries. He also has more than five years of experience providing litigation services to attorneys and their clients, including preparing for and participating in trial depositions and delivering expert witness testimony.
 
Mark has been a frequent speaker on the topic of transfer pricing for organizations such as the Tax Executives Institute (TEI), International Fiscal Association (IFA) and the Council for International Tax Education. He has also lectured on transfer pricing at Duke University, Emory University and Texas A&M University. Mark co-authored the BNA Tax Management Portfolio on Accounting for Uncertain Tax Positions in Transfer Pricing under ASC 740.
