Executive Summary

Laurie DeArmond is the practice leader for the Nonprofit, Governmental, and Healthcare practice with BDO’s Assurance division in the Greater Washington, D.C. market with more than 25 years of experience in all phases of client service and accounting practices. She dedicates her time and extensive experience to auditing not-for-profit organizations in all subsegments, including colleges and universities, public charities, trade associations, social services organizations, and private foundations.

Her experience in auditing and consulting includes serving a wide variety of tax-exempt organizations, including public charities, private foundations, trade associations, scientific and educational organizations, quasi-governmental, and governmental organizations, performing OMB Circular A-133 and program specific audits and auditing employee benefit plans including defined contribution, defined benefit, health and welfare, and single and multiple employer plans.

Laurie was awarded one of the 2013 Women to Watch Awards by the Greater Washington Society of CPAs for her contributions to the profession. She is a member of the BDO’s Inclusion – Women National Strategy Team.
