Karen Schuler has a broad background in multidisciplinary fraud, cybersecurity, and government investigations, as well as civil litigation spanning a variety of subject matters, including securities, intellectual property, and product liability. She is a nationally known speaker and author on enterprise risk management, cybersecurity and investigations.

With 25 years of experience in risk management, governance, legal issues and technology, she assists clients with mitigating their operational, compliance and data protection risks. Karen has participated in Rule 26(f) meet-and-confer conferences, has been designated as the 30(b)6 expert for multiple clients, and has testified numerous times.

Karen is the author of eDiscovery: Creating and Managing an Enterprise-wide Program | A Technical Guide to Digital, a compendium on information governance and e-discovery and is the founder of one of the first digital forensics investigations firms in the United States. She has authored a wide range of articles, has been frequently quoted by the media, and has presented at numerous conferences. Prior to joining BDO, Karen held senior positions at cyber investigations, cyber security, and expert services firms, and was a Senior Forensic Investigator for the United States Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC).
