Executive Summary
Michael serves as BDO’s Managing Principal of Core Assurance, where he oversees the firm’s core assurance strategy, service delivery and operational execution across the practice. He brings more than 30 years of public accounting experience to the role.
Previously, Michael served as Assurance Managing Principal for BDO’s East and Central Geographies. He also served as office managing principal of BDO’s Raleigh office, helping establish and grow it organically over 14 years. As South Atlantic Market Managing Principal in 2024, Michael partnered with principals across multiple offices to drive strategic growth while reinforcing consistent quality, risk management and outstanding client service.
In addition to his leadership of BDO’s core assurance practice, he oversees key people-development initiatives, helping advance new and refined approaches to performance management to support the growth and success of BDO’s Assurance professionals.
Michael also serves as a client relationship principal for select clients and across BDO’s broader client base, connecting clients to the right firm resources and delivering exceptional service. His client experiences includes serving both public and private companies, with a primary focus on institutions of higher education.
He was elected to BDO’s Board of Directors in 2026.
