What a fascinating and unpredictable year 2016 was. Despite the political and economic uncertainty that existed in many areas of the globe, the media sector continued to perform strongly, particularly in terms of merger and acquisition activity. As in previous years, the US and the UK continue to dominate, with China, Asia Pacific as a whole, and Western Europe all exhibiting an unquenchable thirst for exciting media businesses. As we move through 2017, we foresee an upswing in the digital media and advertising sectors will continue to drive deals.
