Executive Summary

As System and Organization Controls (SOC) Reporting Practice Leader for BDO’s Southeast Region, Wesley Freeman is responsible for coordinating all SOC reporting functions for the region. He also participates in BDO’s SOC Reporting Working Group and is charged with the development of firm policies and procedures relating to SOC 1 and SOC 2 reporting.

He has been with BDO for over 10 years, performing various information systems audit functions, including supporting the Assurance Practice by performing information technology general controls (ITGC) risk assessments, IT Sarbanes–Oxley (SOX) testing, testing of automated application controls, report reliance testing, segregation of duties testing, data analysis and other IT audit-related responsibilities.

Wesley also serves on BDO’s National IDEA and Data Analysis Steering Committee where he develops training and guidance for effectively utilizing computer assisted audit techniques (CAATs) on audit engagements to automate certain audit processes.
