Executive Summary

Sofia Blair has almost 20 years of experience in client service and accounting. As a member of BDO’s Healthcare and Nonprofit & Education practices, she specializes in the planning, supervising and coordinating of audit engagements and employee benefit plans. She also conducts internal control reviews and provides recommendations on establishing and enhancing effective policies and procedures. She has extensive audit and consulting experience with healthcare and nonprofit organizations, including hospitals, health centers, large physician groups, associations, membership organizations, and quasi-governmental and governmental organizations.
In addition, she is knowledgeable in the reimbursement guidelines and regulations of various New York State-funded agencies, including the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), Office of Mental Health (OMH),  State Education Department (SED), Department of Health (DOH), Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), and the state branch of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Sofia also has extensive experience with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and charitable organizations.
