Executive Summary

Richard Gabaldon is a Tax Partner in BDO’s Costa Mesa office. He has 25 years of experience providing consulting, planning and compliance services to a wide range of clients, including privately owned and large publicly traded companies with domestic and international operations. Richard has worked in various markets across the western United States, including Los Angeles, Orange County, Denver, and Albuquerque. Prior to joining BDO, he served as a partner at a large regional accounting firm and as part of the executive management team for a publicly traded company.
Richard has extensive experience serving private equity clients and affiliated funds with both domestic and international investments. In addition, he has strong partnership experience dealing with complex provisions such as calculating the promote fee, waterfall provisions, and accounting for admission and exit of new partners. Richard also works regularly with clients on pass-through entities, structural planning, passive foreign investment company issues, transfer pricing, and Internal Revenue Code (IRC) 704(b) and (c).
Richard has authored articles on a variety of tax-related topics and has presented at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants national conference, as well as a number of continuing education seminars.
