Executive Summary

Rachel Weinthal is a Senior Manager in BDO Consulting’s Litigation and Corporate Investigations practice based in New York.  She has nearly 10 years’ experience providing litigation and forensic accounting services, concentrating on accounting-related and fraud investigations, as well as four years’ experience auditing financial service organizations.  Rachel has extensive experience in drafting expert reports and assisting in the preparation of expert witnesses for trial.  She also has experience in the preparation of insurance recovery claims, including complex property and business interruption claims for policyholders affected by Super Storm Sandy.  Rachel has serviced insurance clients in industries such as healthcare, retail, gourmet food and gifts. 

Most recently, Rachel has supported the Monitor of the National Mortgage Settlement in its oversight of a mortgage servicer.  More specifically, she has worked with a team of professionals to oversee the servicer’s compliance with the servicing standards metrics set forth by the servicer’s consent judgment.  Rachel has worked on various matters including insurance insolvency analyses, SEC and revenue recognition investigations, embezzlement scheme investigations, and bankruptcy valuation engagements.  She has also managed engagement teams in preparing client deliverables and drafted expert reports with related analyses and exhibits.

Prior to joining BDO, Rachel was a Director at FTI Consulting in the Forensic & Litigation Practice and a member of the assurance practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
