Executive Summary

Lewis Sharpstone is an Assurance partner with extensive experience serving nonprofit organizations and a passion for doing so. To date, he has successfully conducted over 1,500 nonprofit audits and has served over 200 nonprofit clients, large and small, in all the sectors of the nonprofit universe.

Lewis is a recognized leader, both in his field of nonprofits and also in the public accounting community. He currently serves on the board and as chair of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA) and also on the governing body, council, of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). In 2015, Lewis was called upon to give insight directly to the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) as they deliberated significant changes to the nonprofit financial reporting model. He is yellow book certified.

Lewis is extremely active in the community, currently serving on the board of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (whose major program is Stand Up 2 Cancer) as well as two other boards in an advisory capacity. He also recently served as an adjunct professor of accounting at California State University Long Beach, teaching Ethics in Accounting and has previously served on several nonprofit boards.
