Executive Summary

Bill Jozaitis is the leader of BDO’s Sales and Use Tax practice in Chicago and has more than 25 years of experience in sales, use and excise taxes. Bill began his career with the Cook County Department of Revenue as a Field Tax Auditor and later became the Director of Financial Control for revenue collections. Bill specialized in sales and use tax at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he spent 12 years, five of them as the Chicago Sales Tax Practice Leader. He also spent three years as the Chicago Sales Tax Practice Leader at Ernst & Young. Most recently, Bill served as GE Capital’s Tax Counsel for Sales and Property Taxes, where he focused on the company’s broad financing and leasing business activities. Bill’s responsibilities at GE Capital were extended to include the company’s significant strategic divestures and related tax function transitions.
Bill has served as a trusted advisor to a broad range of clients in various industries, including construction, technology, manufacturing, utilities, financial services, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, retail, and services.  He provides clients with a range of multistate services, primarily focusing on complex matter consulting, tax application and processes, controversy, and opportunities to bring value to companies through tax recovery, planning, and negotiating historical liabilities. Bill is registered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
