Chicago, IL – For the fourth time, BDO USA, LLP, one of the nation’s leading accounting and consulting firms, has been named one of the 25 Best Places to Work for Recent Grads by ConnectEDU, a technology company that helps guide student transitions from school to career. The 2014 list recognizes 25 top organizations from a wide range of industries across the country for excellence in recruiting, hiring, training and retaining young professionals. BDO USA is the only accounting firm recognized on this year's list. Accenture, AT&T, Liberty Mutual, Philips, Protiviti and Verizon were among the other winners. “As one of the country's leading professional services firms, we take great satisfaction in being recognized, once again, among this prestigious list of organizations,” said Stephanie Polon, Director of Campus Recruiting and Generational Strategy Advisor at BDO USA. "This honor serves as a valuable third-party endorsement of BDO USA's commitment to providing outstanding career paths for our employees - a message that resonates with students."
In addition to this recognition from ConnectEDU, BDO USA has been named a Best Company by Working Mother magazine for three consecutive years, a best accounting employer in the Vault Accounting 50 and been presented with the prestigious Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility for five consecutive years. The firm has also been featured in the book, Future Work (Palgrave Macmillan, http://www.futureworkbook.com/), as a leading innovator of how businesses can adapt and thrive in the new world of work by changing organizational cultures and work practices.
Since 2007, Experience, Inc., a ConnectEDU company, has selected the top employers by evaluating employer offerings on the factors important to recent grads when selecting a place to work. Employers were evaluated and awarded points on weighted criteria. The top determining factors were access to training, company culture, benefits, salary, and retention. They were also awarded points for company mission, time off, career path, company attractiveness to recent grads, and work hours expected. The survey garnered responses from more than 200 employers from across the country. The surveys were blindly reviewed by ConnectEDU with all company references removed, and winners were chosen based on points awarded for the aforementioned workplace factors. There is no ranking among the top 25; it is simply a comprehensive list.
