Schuler as a Managing Director in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Ms. Schuler has 20 years of experience working with organizations and their counsel on litigation and complex investigations, advising clients on computer forensics and e-discovery, as well as governance, risk management and compliance (GRC) programs that enhance their ability to respond to future matters in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Ms. Schuler is experienced in providing strategic and operational guidance to Fortune 500 companies, advising on mitigation strategies and governance solutions to reduce future risk, including defensible disposition standards, governance practices, data breach and cyber investigations. Having conducted engagements in more than 30 countries, she is well-versed in managing multi-jurisdictional and multi-language litigation matters involving fraud and corruption, as well as Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) compliance. Ms. Schuler is a Certified Fraud Examiner and has participated in Rule 26(f) meet-and-confer conferences and provided expert witness testimony on complex data and technology issues. She also authored “eDiscovery: Creating and Managing an Enterprise-wide Program | A Technical Guide to Digital,” a comprehensive book on information governance and e-discovery.

Prior to joining BDO, Ms. Schuler was Head of Kroll’s Global Information Security Practice. She was also a Managing Director for Intelligent Discovery Solutions and a Senior Computer Forensics Examiner at the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission. Presently, Ms. Schuler serves on the board of directors for an information management and governance software company, as well as on the Advisory Council of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. She previously served on the board of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA).
