Please join BDO USA, LLP for a complimentary CPE- qualified breakfast briefing on the Affordable Care Act and its affect on retailers.  

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) created mandates for individuals to obtain healthcare coverage and large employers to offer coverage to full-time employees and their dependents.  The ACA also provides government subsidies to assist qualified individuals purchase coverage.

The IRS created the ACA information returns to collect data that will be used to enforce the individual and employer mandates and detect violations of coverage and qualification for subsidies. Significant penalties are imposed for a failure to file the required forms timely. 

Topics to be discussed include:
 
  • Line-by-line insights of the Forms 1094 and 1095 series, including  which employers are required to file the “B Forms” (1094-B & 1095-B)
  • Identifying applicable large employers (ALEs) who who must file the “C Forms” (1094-C & 1095-C)
  • Review of the various indicator codes delineating monthly coverage status, safe harbors and transition rules
  • What employers should be doing now to prepare for ACA information reporting
