Help prepare your agency for the challenges in the upcoming year. This 2-day seminar for all staff members will discuss strategies and techniques to protect reserves and survive challenges to funding. We will consolidate all the important goals, deadlines and hot topics for 2018.

Topics include: Refederalization of the COCC, potential offset of public housing reserves, anticipated funding in 2018, PHAS implications in 2018, maximizing FDS scoring, 2018 important dates, as well as what you need to know about Section 8 and the Capital Fund Program.

Final course content may be influenced by guidance released this fall.'

Participant Learning Objectives
Attendees of this session will learn how to:
  • Prepare for the six most crucial deadlines in 2018
  • Review the COCC and identify three areas where your PHA could be exposed to the “re-federalizing” of non-federal funds and learn how to protect them
  • Discuss 13 techniques to protect Public Housing operating reserves
  • Highlight key aspects of RAD accounting and reporting
  • Implement a simple methodology to monitor Section 8 funding, as well as HUD-held and RNP reserve levels
  • Identify at least five areas where the RNP is calculated differently on the FDS vs. VMS
  • Discuss Super Circular impacts on ineligible costs
  • Review the latest FDS changes to prevent an FDS rejection
  • Examine the methodology and possible effect of the HCV Admin Fee Study
  • Recognize over a dozen tips to maximize revenue to your PHA
  • Discuss 10 tips to maximize operating subsidy on an annual basis
  • Apply at least six strategies to maximize financial (FASS) & management (MASS) ratio scoring on the current PHAS rule
  • Determine steps for mandatory CFP annual plan reporting in the EPIC system
  • Identify Public Housing subsidy revision opportunities
  • Examine the latest compliance regulations for Asset Management

Cancellation Policy 
Seminar Registrants may cancel up to two weeks prior to a group live seminar for a refund, less a $25 processing fee; cancelled registration payments prior to the cutoff date can also be applied (in full) to any future event. Cancellations after the two week cutoff date will receive a full credit towards a future seminar. Event cancellations should be submitted in writing via email, and include attendee name, company, title of the event and indicate whether or not payment has been submitted.
