Back to Basics: Building Blocks to Mitigate Risk and IA's Role in Evaluating Segregation of Duties

November 30, 2021
3:00 to 4:00 PM ET
Speakers: Bill Dawson, Jen McCloskey and Trish Tulenko

Segregation of Duties (SOD) is a fundamental element of internal control. The underlying idea is that no single employee – or group of employees - should be in a position to conceal errors or perpetuate fraud in the normal course of their duties. With changing business processes and an increased reliance on information technology, it is important for internal audit teams to understand SOD and the role they can play in helping companies maintain proper and efficient SOD.

Following this webinar, participants will be able to:
  • Define SOD and identify the reasoning for conflicts
  • Identify critical SOD for specific processes
  • Identify SOD considerations by size of company
  • Discuss internal audit's role in evaluating SOD
