In part two of our Workforce Transformation blog series, we’ll look at the second “P” of successful digital workforce transformation – Protection.

In an increasingly digital world, humans have moved ahead of machines as the top target for cybercriminals. Cybercrime damage costs are expected to exceed $6 trillion annually by 2021. Today, every IT position must also be a cybersecurity position. Everyone that touches technology needs to be involved in protecting and defending data, apps, devices, infrastructure, and people.

In the current state of cybersecurity, how can businesses enable their teams to protect themselves?

Protection: Part of the 4 Ps of Workforce Transformation

To optimize your level of protection, four areas should be considered: Security, Compliance, Resilience, and Assurance.

• Security – Are your data and end users safe from cyber-attacks? How protected are you right now? Where are the gaps?
• Compliance – Do you meet regulatory and industry compliance requirements? Have they changed recently? Are you up-to-date?
• Resilience – Do you have a disaster recovery and business continuity plan?
• Assurance – Do your current security strategies evolve alongside evolving attack strategies? How can you test and improve your controls over time?

Finally, end users are the best line of defense, and they need to be enabled to protect data and proactively meet compliance requirements. Not everyone is an IT security expert, but your team should be empowered with the tools and training needed to maximize their protection.
