Webinar Recap: 2016 Retail Holiday Pricing, Promotional Strategies & Plans for the New Year
As the 2016 holiday shopping season wraps, we’ve been analyzing the results from our 2016 Retail Compass Survey of CMOs
and discussing the ways retailers can make the insights actionable as we head into the New Year. Last week, we hosted a webinar to share our thoughts.
Throughout the hour, we discussed projections for this holiday season compared to early results from Thanksgiving weekend and overall industry performance thus far, taking into account external influences like the weather and election. We also explored how retail CMOs are strategizing their approaches to discounting this year amid pricing pressures, and navigating other challenges, including consumer data management and cybersecurity concerns. We ended with a discussion of our predictions for the year ahead, our thoughts on emerging pain points and industry x-factors.
