BDO Demonstrates Pride By Driving Dialogue, Supporting Equality Act
Pride Month – a celebration of LGBTQ+ visibility, equality and dignity – is inherently rooted in demonstrations to counter discrimination and exclusion. Today, along with honoring those who have fought for the rights of LGBTQ+ communities, we celebrate each individual’s journey to discover and love their authentic self.
At BDO, we strive to foster a culture that supports diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. That is why we are proud to announce that we’ve joined the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Business Coalition for the Equality Act. The HRC was established in 1980 to end discrimination against LGBTQ+ people and realize a world that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all. By signing on to this coalition, BDO joins companies nationwide to support federal legislation that would provide the same basic protections to LGBTQ+ people as are provided to other protected groups under federal law.
Throughout the month, BDO’s Pride Alliance – a community serving LGBTQ+ professionals, as well as their allies – will bring our people together virtually and in person to recognize Pride. From celebrating at local events and festivals to hosting firmwide discussions on how to be an ally, our professionals are driving awareness and important dialogue.
