Computer Forensics Services

BDO Consulting's dedicated Computer Forensics professionals discreetly access and image computers, networks and other storage media, as well as perform in-depth analyses in our secure forensics lab. We employ a variety of techniques using state-of-the-art software and we tailor our procedures to address clients’ needs.

Our services include:

• Collecting and preserving electronically stored information following the United States Department of Justice Search and Seizure guidelines, and the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS) guidelines for Forensic Examination of Computers and Digital and Electronic Media.
• Analyzing individuals' conduct, including deletion activity, file copying, Internet browsing and wiping/secure deletion activity.
• Searching live and deleted files, unallocated space and slack space, based on keywords and/or concepts.
• Identifying known system and user files, as well as duplicate files, to limit and expedite document review.

Chain-of-custody documentation is prepared and maintained by our professionals, and quality control procedures are employed at critical points throughout an engagement. Our professionals communicate regularly with our clients to discuss project status, results and next steps.

E-Discovery Services

Our professionals understand the need to balance thorough document collection and review efforts with the corresponding costs. Our E-Discovery team leverages sophisticated e-discovery technology to assist clients in efficiently identifying potentially responsive documents to an investigation or litigation. Using customized solutions that remove non-relevant data through data filtering, deduplication, near deduplication, metadata analysis and keyword searching, our professionals apply procedures that are cost-effective for our clients. Our E-Discovery team can assist with the drafting or revision of keywords, based on software that analyzes the frequency of the keywords. This technology, coupled with our experience, can yield a more focused and effective search list.
