Chicago, IL – BDO Seidman, LLP today announced revenue for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2007 increased by $31 million to $589 million, a 5.6 percent increase over last year’s revenue of $558 million. The firm’s core business lines of assurance (+15.5%) and tax (+7.2%) continued to experience strong growth over the past year, with combined growth of $60 million (+13.2%). Due to the non-recurring nature of its service offerings, the specialized services line experienced a drop (-28.2%) in revenues after achieving unprecedented growth (+55%) the previous year. Over the past three fiscal years, BDO Seidman’s overall revenues have achieved a 61 percent cumulative increase.

The firm’s assurance business line represents 65 percent of BDO Seidman’s business. The firm’s tax and specialized services business lines represent 23 percent and 12 percent of revenues respectively.

“In fiscal 2007, BDO Seidman continued to experience increased demand for services in the core assurance business line. We currently have 375 SEC clients and, during the past three calendar years, have experienced a larger net gain in publicly traded clients than any other accounting firm. Furthermore, in the 2006 calendar year, BDO Seidman handled 15 initial public offerings compared to only 13 initial public offerings by clients over the previous three years combined,” said BDO Seidman CEO Jack Weisbaum. “The tax business line also experienced healthy growth in the past year as we are increasingly asked to provide consulting advice to large non-attest clients. Due to the transactional nature of its services, the specialized services line was down from 2006 when it was in the final stages of wrapping several major forensic investigations and corporate restructurings.”
