Getting Started
Coveo Enterprise Search boasts plenty of new features that significantly enrich the search experience. Here is a summary of the features that were added since version 3.7.
The look and feel of the search interface has been improved in order to maximize search efficiency.
Coveo Enterprise Search now remembers which documents have been recently opened by the user and his coworkers, and uses this information to provide better results to his queries. Users can also assign personal ratings to documents, in order to increase or decrease their relative rankings.
It is now possible to sort results by the values of any custom field, giving users more power to manipulate their searches.
The ranking of search results has been improved in many ways, helping users find the documents they are looking for quicker.
Providing the user has the Asian character set, he can now index documents written in Korean, Japanese, and Chinese.
A default MS Windows installation comes without the EUC_JP charset conversion routine, thus document of that character set will not be indexed.
Asian documents indexing may fail if the user did not installed the East Asian languages on the computer running the indexer and/or converters.
To install the proper character conversion routine in Windows XP
From the Start menu, select Control Panel.
Double-click Regional and Language Options.
Click the Languages tab
Select the Install files for East Asian Languages checkbox.
